Erythromycin thiocyanate is a macrolide antibiotic produced by the actinomycete Streptomyces erythreus, which has a wide range of antibacterial activities. Erythromycin thiocyanate works by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, and inhibits RNA-dependent protein synthesis by blocking transpeptidation and/or translocation reactions without affecting nucleic acid synthesis.
The antibacterial spectrum is similar to benzylpenicillin. It has a strong effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, and pneumococcus among gram-positive bacteria, and it also has a certain effect on Pasteurella and Brucella among gram-negative bacteria. In addition, this The product is also effective against Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, Leptospira, Actinomycetes, and Nocardia, but has no effect on Enterobacter coli, Salmonella and other intestinal-negative bacilli.
