Salicylic acid is a fat-soluble organic acid. It is a is white crystal or crystalline powder. It has no odor and
is slightly sweet and then hot. It has no change in the air. It can be sublimated at atmospheric pressure above
76 °C.
It is easily decarboxylated by atmospheric pressure to form ph enol and carbon dioxide. The aqueous solution is
acidic and reacts with FeCl3 in purple. This product is slightly soluble in water, soluble in boiling water, soluble in
ethanol or ether, slightly soluble in chloro  form.
